EASTPORT, MAINE – Hospitality abounds at one of the more spectacular Bed & Breakfast options in Eastport, making it a superb place to stay while exploring the easternmost city in the United States. Named for its builder, Benjamin Milliken, this stunning 1846 home has numerous original features such as marble fireplaces and plaster moldings in the double living room. Large spaces, high ceilings, an impressive number of antiques, and period inspired wallpaper, velvet drapes and artwork will transport you to a luxurious period of fine living. The atmosphere extends into the five guest rooms on the two upper floors also populated by beautiful antiques and where modifications to provide private bath accommodations have been minimal.

Accommodations are clean, quiet and comfortable. Mary Williams , the owner and your hostess will make you feel right at home with her warmth. She’ll also make you want to wake up early for her mouth-watering breakfast offerings. Gourmet buttermilk pancakes and fruit sauces, savory egg and vegetable dishes, tasty sausages and bacon, bowls of fresh fruit, and homemade breads served with excellent coffee, tea or juice will give you the fuel for the day to set foot out the door.

Another key benefit to staying at the Milliken House is that once you park in the easily to find parking in back, you need not drive again while here. Eastport is a very walkable community and the Milliken House is just up the street from the Eastport Arts Center and a few blocks from the thriving downtown on Water Street. National Historic Waterfront District contains a number of art galleries, eateries, including Greek and Tex-mex fare, an art museum. But don’t think this is simply a touristy town as you’ll also find the town’s post office, thrift store, chamber of commerce office, and working waterfront there, too.
